Caps for Kids
Throughout the year, The Knitting Shoppe collects kid-sized handmade caps, mittens and scarves that our customers knit or crochet.. These caps are then distributed to needy Iowa city families in December, through Cassie's Mittens, a local drive.

The Preemie Project
The Knitting Shoppe is also a pickup site for The Preemie Project, a non-profit organization that comforts premature and critically ill infants and their families at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
